An Operating Partner at Material Impact, Paul applies his deep operating experience and industry insight to help our entrepreneurs identify and execute winning business strategies and build industry-defining companies.
Paul is a former CEO, a retired investment banker, and a sought-after board member. He has spent his entire 35+ year career in the tech industry and has advised hundreds of CEOs and boards on strategies for creating and realizing shareholder value.
Paul serves on both public and private company boards and works with our companies to scale their operations or power through a strategic pivot. He previously served for 11 years on the board of Iron Mountain (NYSE:IRM), helping the management team there drive massive shareholder value by entering the data center business and optimizing the core storage business. In addition to serving on the boards of several Material Impact portfolio companies, he currently serves on the boards of two publicly traded, Resideo Technologies (NYSE: REZI) and EverQuote (NASDAQ:EVER).
As a banker or board member, Paul has completed over 150 M&A, financing, and IPO transactions over the course of his career. He was most recently a senior advisor and senior managing director with Evercore and, previously, Vice Chairman of Jefferies. As CEO of Broadview, he built the technology industry’s leading independent M&A advisory firm.
A first-generation college graduate, Paul believes deeply in the opportunities that education can provide, and in supporting the dreams of young people. He is a current member of The Presidential Advisory Board at Berklee College of Music. He previously served on the boards of Big Brother Big Sister of Massachusetts Bay, Berklee City Music and Match Public Charter High School, and has endowed scholarships at Boston College and the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s summer school Days in the Arts program.
He is an avid skier, a poor golfer, a wine enthusiast, and a season ticket holder for the Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox.
