Paul Deninger has spent his entire 30+ year career in the technology industry and has advised hundreds of CEOs and boards on strategies for creating and realizing shareholder value.

In addition to serving as an Operating Partner at Material Impact, Paul Deninger is a former CEO, retired investment banker, and sought-after board member.

Paul Deninger has spent his entire 30+ year career in the technology industry and has advised hundreds of CEOs and boards on strategies for creating and realizing shareholder value. Paul completed over 150 M&A, financing, and IPO transactions over the course of his banking career. He was most recently a senior advisor and senior managing director with Evercore and, previously, Vice Chairman of Jefferies. As CEO of Broadview, he built the technology industry’s leading independent M&A advisory firm, growing revenue 600% in the process.

Paul is a deeply experienced public and private company board member and an authority on market disruption and digital transformation. He previously served for 11 years on the board of Iron Mountain, which experienced a compound annual total shareholder return (TSR) of more than 15% over the course of his tenure. He currently serves on the boards of five companies — two publicly traded (Resideo and EverQuote) and three private.   

A first-generation college graduate, Paul believes deeply in the opportunities that education can provide, and in supporting the dreams of young people.  He is a current board member of Berklee City Music, previously served on the boards of Big Brother Big Sister of Massachusetts Bay and Match Public Charter High School, and has endowed scholarships at Boston College and the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s summer school Days in the Arts program. 

He is an avid skier, a poor golfer, a wine enthusiast, and a season ticket holder for the Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox.
